Phill Barclay, Managing Director/Chief Pilot. Phill’s role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of Volcanic Air Safaris. This includes ensuring all Standards and Procedures are properly adhered to and integrated into the operations of the business. Phill has extensive floatplane experience, has an instructor rating and trains all floatplane pilots. He is a qualified Multi-Engined Instrument Rated pilot. He is also responsible for the upkeep and R & M of the aircraft. Phill can be found on his days off swinging a Club at one of the many local Golf Courses or out fishing. phill@volcanicair.co.nz |

Tim Barrow, Company Director/Chief Pilot
Tim’s role is to oversee day-to-day Helicopter operations at Volcanic Air. This includes ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times. Tim has extensive helicopter experience having entered the industry in 1986, this experience covers all facets of helicopter aviation including specialised commercial, power line, filming, long line, fire fighting, police SAR and tourism operations. Tim has lived in the Bay of Plenty for the last 24 years and has raised a family in this area. Tim is a passionate advocate of this area having lived in what he considers to be New Zealand’s best kept secret.

Dorien Vroom, Director has been involved in the tourism & travel industry for 17 years. Leaving her homeland, the Netherlands in 1992, Dorien travelled to NZ with a view to visit but met Phill and the decision was made to stay in Rotorua. She was immediately snapped up by a well-known Travel Agency in Rotorua and then persuaded to use her skills within the Company.
