Fly over New Zealand’s only permanently active offshore volcano, White Island and take in amazing aerial views of the island’s crater lake and ever changing volcanic activity. Continue across the Pacific Ocean and further inland to the site of the latest eruption in our living memory, Mount Tarawera. En route, view our magnificent coast, distant national Parks, multiple volcanoes and the massive Kaiangaroa forest. Witness firsthand the massive craters formed during the 1886 Tarawera eruption. Our final decent brings us back to Rotorua via the stunning Waimangu Volcanic Valley and our Lakes District.

This captivating tour combines aerial views of the region’s most renowned scenic highlights from above with the romance of a floatplane flight taking off and landing from the shores of beautiful Lake Rotorua. Experience the beauty of our lakes district and a flight over New Zealand’s iconic active volcano White Island. Followed by the peaks and craters of a sleeping giant Mount Tarawera and the surreal colours Waimangu Volcanic Valley.

Take in aerial views of the wider Bay of Plenty and the contrasting landscapes of national parks, fertile farming plains and hill country sheep and cattle stations, stunning coastline features as do aerial views of orchards.

Requirements: Please note that bags or packs are not permitted on board. Guests are welcome to bring a camera.

Children 2-11 years pay a child fare (75% of the adult fare).

Safety: A full safety briefing will be provided at the Volcanic Air Base. All passengers will be required to be weighted in order to ensure proper weight distribution in the aircraft.
