Our Helicopter Crater Lakes flight offers amazing views of our hidden lakes district. Departing from the city lakefront helipad, your pilot will fly you east across Lake Rotorua to view the lakes of Tikitapu (Blue Lake), Rotokakahi (Green Lake), Okareka, Tarawera, Rotomahana and Okataina. These stunning crater lakes are surrounded by native forests, pastoral lands, and pine forests, all hidden from view due to the volcanic caldera (formed by an eruption 240,000 years ago) in which Rotorua City sits in the heart. Only an aerial perspective reveals the true beauty of this region. 

Your pilot will fly alongside Mt Tarawera, dormant volcano, before looping over the western bays of Lake Rotoiti and the Ohau Channel. Take in expansive views of Mt Ngongotaha, Rotorua City and Sulfur Bay before landing back on the water.

Requirements: Flight operates with a minimum of 4 adult fares

Children: Children under 2 are free of charge. Children 2-11 years pay a child fare (75% of the adult fare)
