Steve started flying floatplanes in Rotorua in 2007, left, and then returned again in 2018. Story grew up in New Hampshire (Northeast of the United States) and spent the last decade teaching high school History and English in America. While on a working holiday visa in NZ, she fell in love with a Kiwi, and subsequently now calls Rotorua home. To celebrate their 1 year wedding anniversary, Tim flew Story and her husband around Mount Tarawera. Then, in true small town fashion, they kept running into each other while walking their dogs. It turns out that a diploma in secondary education utilizes a lot of the required skills for managing an aviation tourism office. Story brings enthusiasm and organization to the team, as well as a deep sense of gratitude for getting to call this beautiful country home.

After initially working at Volcanic Air during the summer of 2017, Alice rejoined the office full-time in 2023. Alice was brought up in the industry and is now the third generation of the Barrow family involved in aviation. She brings invaluable local knowledge to the team as a Rotorua local (born on the hill overlooking our office!) who has worked various tourism jobs around town before earning her Diploma in Tourism and Travel from Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology. After graduating, Alice pursued her passion for horses and worked as a Stud Groom at Waikato Stud for 2 years. However, her love for tourism, her hometown and its people ultimately brought her back to Rotorua. Currently, Alice is also working toward obtaining her own private fixed wing license – so you may just see her in the pilot’s seat one day soon!
