21 Oct Mount Tarawera – Karakia
19th October 2020
As always we find ourselves privileged to be connected to Mount Tarawera the sacred Maunga of Ngati Rangitihi.
This year as in others we shared in an incredibly special experience!
The Volcanic Air crew joined with the team at Ngati Rangitihi, D.O.C and Kaitiaki on the annual pilgrimage to bless those involved in this hugely worthy conservation project.
Without question you can’t not be effected by this Karakia, the process that seeks protection for this team of young men and those who support them.
They work in incredibly challenging conditions to preserve one of New Zealand’s greatest “Taongas” against the ravages of introduced pest such as Pinus Contorta (Wilding Pines).
From the team at Volcanic Air we wish the team a safe and productive season on the Maunga and offer our continued support in the quest to eradicate these noxious pests in what must be one of New Zealand’s most worthy conservation projects!
