LAKE ROTOITI HOT POOLS BY FLOATPLANE

Embark with us on a truly memorable experience, combining the excitement of a floatplane flight with a genuine “Kiwi Experience” of soaking in natural Hot Pools on a lakeside.

Departing from the Rotorua City lakefront, make sure you have your swimsuit and towel as you take to the skies in one of our floatplanes. Fly around Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island, a bird sanctuary, and then over the Ohau Channel before landing on Lake Rotoiti. Only accessible by water, the beautifully secluded geothermal hot pools of Manupirua Bay await you. These are the oldest commercially operated hot springs in New Zealand and one of Rotorua’s best-kept secrets. Seemingly disconnected from the world, you can simply relax and let your life stresses wash away. Take your time soaking in each of the 7 pools, cool off in the lake (there’s a slide and a jump off the jetty for the kids or the kid in you!), rest on a lounger, and repeat. As if that’s not enticing enough, the cafe offers wine, beer, and snacks to enjoy at the numerous picnic tables along the lakes edge.

After 90 minutes of lounging and soaking, your pilot will come around and give you the signal – use the changing rooms before heading back to the waiting floatplane. Enjoy another takeoff from the water and the return flight (about 6 minutes in length) back to the Rotorua Lakefront.

Children: Under 2 free of charge. Children 2-11 years pay a child fare (75% of the adult fare)
